You certainly have to hand it to the Singaporeans for their creativity. Due to the fact local people are not permitted to play in the spectacular casinos in Singapore, a number of enterprising bosses have stumbled upon an amazing means of experiencing and enjoying the fun of gambling without ever having to set foot in a casino… By making their foreign employees go and gamble for them! There are plenty of foreign personnel in Singapore and their employers are literally employing them to enter the casinos and gamble on their behalf. They might not be happy about it, but they get to gamble for free and who’s to say they have to be honest about their winnings? The boss can’t enter the casino, so they would never know. I know I wouldn’t be complaining about the situation.

The minister in charge of gambling was very quick to make an announcement concerning the phenomenon last week, proclaiming that “It is appalling and completely unacceptable for bosses to make use of their workers in this manner.” Unfortunately for the staff being utilized for gambling, it is not technically an illegal practise, at least not yet.
