Barney Frank, US Congressman, was a special guest at the World Series of Poker held at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas. On his visit he repeated his earlier statements about online gambling and wants it to remain a freedom for the American people to enjoy.

More than a thousand of poker players who listened to Frank’s speech left with a sense of security that the representative would definitely carry out his promises. They claimed that it was a rare feeling of trust that had come when dealing with politicians.

The eleven time pure gold bracelet poker winner, Phil Hellmuth, who was at the series and had won the Main Event 20 years ago said that internet gambling would flourish globally regardless of whether US officials soften their opinions or not.

Frank has presented two bills to officials in the last few months with regard to online gambling laws where the first bill would postpone the rules from the UIGEA from going into effect in December. Frank proposed this legislation to make sure that proper research was done with regard to the rules and effects they might have.

The second legislation was directed for all online gambling industries where Frank was hoping to legalize and regulate Internet gambling with this projected Bill H.R. 2267. The Bill received incredible support from other US officials and has managed to gain forty co-sponsors already.

This has reassured US online casino gamblers and most of them agree that they do not want to continue fighting the inevitable when they could actually legalize, regulate and produce those Tax dollars that could help the US economy.
