PartyGaming Moves Toward US Gambling Return

    Category: Gamble for free

The feud between PartyGaming and the US government has finally come to an end with regard to government considering online gambling illegal activity. The company is preparing to return to US gambling market and with a bang too!

On Sunday, PartyGaming closed the deal to acquire rights to the prestigious World Poker Tour giving the company a host of gambling opportunities not only in the US but across the world. The company acquires complete rights over sixteen thousand online poker gambling players who have signed up for a subscription to the WPT.

Furthermore, the company receives rights to land based tournaments that are conducted in Europe and the US. For a $3million revenue share over the next three years, PartyGaming will receive 150 hours of poker programming. Not much of a price to pay for what WPT is willing to offer perhaps.

The deal didn’t go as smoothly as hoped. In a last minute attempt to grab the acquisition from PartyGaming’s fingertips, Mandalay Media put forwards a proposal of $36.5 million for acquisition of the WPT brand. The proposal was turned down for the assets deal PartyGaming offered.

PartyGaming came to terms with the US government earlier this year and had to pay a huge amount of money to avoid persecution for illegal gambling activities. However, the debate on online gambling laws are still on and with Barney Frank making efforts to pass the bill that legalizes and regulates online gambling things may see some change soon.
